Renovation service
Just a Change is providing renovations in 10 energy poverty households. The organization mobilizes all the necessary resources for the construction
work, such as materials, tools, manpower and volunteer work, with the goal to create a change in people’s lives, namely to improve thermal insulation and comfort, to reduce energy bills, and enable beneficiaries to save and have better living conditions. These renovations include the following aspects:
- Purchase and installation of thermal insulation ;
- Purchase and installation of kitchen and bathroom ventilation systems;
- Purchase and installation of energy efficiency windows and doors;
- Purchase and installation of solar panel systems.
This service has been implemented in Portugal demonstrating results in reducing energy poverty rates and providing renovated, comfortable and energy efficient homes to people.
Just a Change methodology mobilizes volunteers in the renovation and engages a strong network of multi-sector partners that donate materials and equipment. This strengthens the viability of the business model, by successfully combining a strong social impact model with a solid financial solution.
