Key Projects and References: Novaco has an extensive portfolio of major projects for both the public and private sectors. Notable examples include:

  • Municipal and Regional Energy Planning: Development of low‑carbon energy and heating strategies for Slovak cities – e.g. Nižkoushlíková stratégia (low-carbon strategy) and updated heat energy concepts for Zvolen , Trnava, Lučenec, Partizánske , Bardejov and Kežmarok .  Creation of climate action and adaptation plans (SECAP) for cities like Košice and Bardejov. Strategic planning for regional governments – e.g. the Bratislava Region smart strategy, Žilina Region smart-city analysis, Banská Bystrica Region environmental education program, and energy audits across the Nitra Region institutions.  These projects often align with EU initiatives (Covenant of Mayors, SECAP) and support local sustainable development.

  • Infrastructure and Industry: Energy audits and efficiency projects for major Slovak infrastructure and industrial organizations. Examples include ZSSK Cargo (national rail freight company), the Národná diaľničná spoločnosť(National Motorway Company) tunnel energy audit, Tatravagonka Poprad (railcar manufacturer), and Ekoterm ZSE (power utility) energy consulting.  These projects involved detailed energy consumption analyses and optimization recommendations under Slovak law and EU standards.

  • Financial and Corporate Clients: Work with leading financial institutions and corporations. For instance, energy-consumption studies for Všeobecná úverová banka (VÚB), one of Slovakia’s largest banks, and sustainability consulting for Slovenská sporiteľňa (Erste Group).  Projects for H-PROBYT (housing cooperative association) on heat billing and cost allocation, and for SK Progres (housing/energy services) on heat cost distribution. These engagements helped optimize operating costs and carbon footprints of large organizations.

  • Public Sector & Tourism: Quality and sustainability reviews for public agencies – e.g. service-quality evaluation for the Visit Bratislava tourist board. Concept development in the social and cultural sector (notably a UNESCO World Heritage site Banská Štiavnica management plan, and strategies for education and health, as indicated by project list ).

  • International and Research Projects: Participation in EU-level energy/climate initiatives. Novaco provided expert services to the SMEnergy European project (coordinated by the Slovak Business Agency), and assisted with the GoSAFE with ESI European Social Innovation project on sustainable energy.  It also supported academic partners – e.g. collaborating with the Technical University of Košice on a low-carbon strategy sub-project.
