Description

A joint collaboration program to support the adoption of compatible common data models underpinning a digital market of interoperable and replicable smart solutions.

The FIWARE Foundation IUDX, TM Forum and OASC and others, are leading a joint collaboration program to support the adoption of compatible common data models that underpin a digital market of interoperable and replicable smart solutions in multiple sectors, including smart cities, energy, environment, logistics, robotics, logistics, health, smart destinations (tourism), aeronautics, manufacturing and others.

The availability of widely adopted (de-facto standard) information models is key for creating a global digital single market of interoperable and replicable (portable) smart solutions in multiple domains. Such models provide an essential element in the common technical ground needed for standards-based open innovation and procurement.

Data Models play a crucial role because they define the harmonised representation formats and semantics that will be used by applications both to consume and to publish data. The contribution manual is a good place to start

The models are curated based on the principles of agile standardization, that allows the creation of specifications in less than a week (data-model-in-a-week) provided that running examples and definitions are available. Data models are incorporated from two sources, mapping open and adopted standars (standards that allow their free use, free customization and free sharing of customizations) and real use cases.
