CTIC Technology Centre (CTIC) is a private non-profit Research and Technology Organization (RTO) specialised in the research and development of cutting-edge and emerging technologies. Its main objective is to promote and foster activities related to the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in all spheres of economic and social life that may contribute to the development and improvement of society. CTIC is also the headquarters of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for Spain and the Spanish-speaking America and participates in more than 20 working groups for the standardisation of Web standards (i.e. Web of Things, Data on the web, knowledge graphs, Accessibility, Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs)).

CTIC's develops its activity through six lines of specialisation: Artificial Intelligence and advanced data analytics; Immersive Technologies; Web of Things (WoT); Standardization and Open Data; disruptive technologies like Blockchain and Quantum computing; and Human Factor, which analyses the impact of AI in the ethical, social and economic dimensions, to preserve people's rights while taking advantage of the benefits of technology. Research on these technologies is aimed at addressing 4 challenges: Governance and society (Open Government, Transparency, Citizen participation, Next Generation Internet and W3C); Health and social care (Integrated Care, Data-Driven Innovation, Active Ageing, Age-friendly Environment); Smart territories (Energy Communities, Built Environment and Infrastructure, Climate Action and Resilience, Sustainable Farming); and Twin transition and resilience for industry (Digital Industry, Reductions of emissions, decarbonisation and circularity.

Its technological roadmap focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and is specialised in the research and development of emerging technologies, with an impact on the Data Value Chain, which are the fundamental axis of action, around which develops innovative solutions, within the concept of Artificial Intelligence.
